Abstract: THE ROLE OF HEALTH AND SAFETY POLICIES IN EMPLOYEE WELL-BEING

This study explores the role of health and safety policies in enhancing employee well-being. Objectives include identifying critical health and safety policies, assessing their impact on employee health and safety, and evaluating the overall effect on employee satisfaction and productivity. A survey design is chosen for its ability to collect detailed and diverse data. The sample size, calculated using Taro Yamane's formula, includes 370 participants, ensuring statistical reliability. The research focuses on the construction industry in Lagos, known for its high-risk environment. The reliability coefficient score for the survey instrument is 0.86, indicating strong reliability. Findings reveal that robust health and safety policies significantly improve employee well-being and productivity. The study recommends that organizations should implement comprehensive health and safety programs to ensure a safe and healthy work environment.
